How this index works

Why does the kWh price matter so much?

Electricity is roughly 80% of a hosted miner's operating cost, so small per-kWh differences compound quickly. An Antminer S21 (3,500 W, ~2,550 kWh/month) costs about $115/month at this month's minimum rate versus $204/month at the maximum — a gap of $1071 per year, per unit. New to hosting? How EU and US hosting prices compare

The regional label in our provider dataset currently identifies 5 EU and 3 US providers. All 5 EU-labelled entries publish a per-kWh rate, averaging $0.058/kWh. None of the US-labelled entries publishes a comparable all-in per-kWh rate, so a US average would be misleading; compare each quote’s fees, term and payout model in the hosting comparison.

Provider region Providers tagged Published kWh rates Average published rate
EU 5 5 $0.058/kWh
US 3 0 Not published

Region is the commercial-region field in the provider dataset, not a claim that every facility is located there. Providers without that field are not included in this regional snapshot.
